I want to share three truths about myself with you today:
(1.) I’m horrible at making decisions for myself. I’m constantly weighing the “what-I f’s” which hold me back from making quick decisions. I’m a deep-thinker which can be good, but a lot of times it can cause unnecessary fear.
(2.) Confidence is a daily struggle. I genuinely have to work on it. I’m hyper aware of my insecurities and have to call myself out on a regular basis to fight through it and say “I’m enough” to myself. Sounds silly, right? This is why clothes are so important to me because I realize how they impact my confidence. My whole mission for Randomosity 740 is to help my followers feel good about themselves by inspiring them to think outside the box for themselves.
(3.) I often feel like I’m not a good wife or mother. I work full-time and have extra-curricular activities such as my blog. I wish there was more time in the day so I don’t feel like I’m neglecting my family. That’s why you’ll see my daughter with me in some of my pictures for my blog. When she’s not at school I’ll have her join me during shoots so she can watch me go through the process of chasing my dreams for my blog. I just pray I’m not teaching her something else by accident such as vanity. I want her to always be true to herself and not compare herself to others. As for my husband, he’s an amazing supporter of what I’m doing but there are times he has to remind me to be present when it’s family time because I’ll work on a blogpost thinking I can do it quickly. With working a retail schedule I try to schedule my days off when both of them are off school and work too. So I don’t really have other times to post and write without interfering with my time with them. I’ve been getting better but I have a long way to go.
I’m constantly working on myself and it will forever be a work in progress. The only thing I can do is give it my best and not be too hard on myself. So if I can share anything else with you it’s to be nice to yourself and remember that no one is perfect. Don’t be too critical of others including yourself. I’ve been reading articles about our “highlight reels” on social media and the impact it can have on our emotions. Always remember you’re only seeing pictures that people want you to see. Everyone is battling through something in life. Some just don’t air out their laundry on social media.
Your Faithful Dreamer,
I love pairing the unexpected. Take for instance this top. It would be easy for me to pair this with white pants or denim.
I chose red pants to bring out more color. I added my black leather jacket and black flats to bring some edginess and drama to the look.
Keep in mind when I mention other ways to “edge things up” it’s just to show you a more unique way of pairing things and seeing things differently. There’s nothing wrong with going with the instinctual item, but don’t forget to challenge yourself and have fun! As my daughter and I say all the time while dancing around and raising the roof, “Oh yea! Get it girl!” 😂
Your Faithful Dreamer,
My family and I woke up Saturday morning wondering what we were going to do for the day. What started out as a semi-serious suggestion, became a reality. We decided to make an impromptu trip to Columbus, OH. We lived there for 5 years and still have some amazing friends that we don’t get to see very often. So what should you do on a beautiful, yet still cold day? Take a drive with the fam. I called my friends up and it worked out perfectly for us to get to see all of them. Harper got to see one of her friends too!
We ended our day at a Easton Town Center which was our home away from home when we lived there. We both worked at that mall during our time there and were genuine mall rats because we’d go there to eat and enjoy a movie on our days off! However, the store Zara had not been there yet so I was really excited to stop in there. I tried on a few things with no intention to really buy anything this time around. Marc, my husband saw me stop dead in my tracks when I saw this beautiful trench coat. I’ve always wanted one but the ones I love are usually just too expensive for my wallet. I didn’t even try it on because I figured it was not going to fit our budget. It didn’t help that Marc even said, “Ha! Don’t even think about it!” I went to the fitting room and tried on a few things but didn’t have much luck aside from one cute black and white top (cause that’s just so different from the colors I typically buy-insert eye roll lol)!
It was time for us to meet up with a friend at our favorite pub, Fado. While chatting it up with my friend, Marc said, “Oh, hey! I got you something” and he handed me this jacket nonchalantly! It took me a minute to register that it was the jacket I saw in Zara. I asked why he would do that and he said he knew that I loved it and he hadn’t done something like this for a long time. He’s such a great husband for so many reasons, one for pulling off unexpected surprises when he can. We got really lucky because it fit perfectly! You know I’m usually a huge bargain shopper so this was definitely a treat!
One of the details I loved was the buckle on the cuff and the buttons on the shoulder. The fabric is my favorite too because it has a wonderfully soft hand with a slight sheen. I also loved how the collar was nice and structured. What a sexy spring trench coat!
And can we talk about how awesome it looks with my Lynne and Lucille hair-on-hide earrings from Wit & Whimzy?
What’s your favorite unexpected gift that you’ve ever received? And what a perfect day; Family, friends and fashion! My kind of day 🙂
Your Faithful Dreamer,
