Top and accessories from Peyton & Peppy Boutique

One of the perks of being a local fashion blogger is getting a preview of some of the upcoming season’s assortment of clothing to places like Peyton & Peppy Boutique.  This post is all about shopping for pieces that can easily transition into, dare I say it? Fall!  But don’t worry.  I am not trying to wish the summer away, just simply giving you a current and sneak peek into Peyton & Peppy’s clothing line.  My first two looks are from her current line.  The above image features their jewelry, clutch and a top.  This blue and white slouchy shirt is perfect to wear now with white shorts and heels or in the fall with black pants and pumps to wear to the office.  This image I chose to make it seasonally appropriate for the office by wearing those same mentioned black pants with a strappy heel.

Top, accessories and shoes from Peyton & Peppy Boutique

This next image shows a pair of sandals, jewelry and top from the current line as well.  First and foremost, these shoes are to die for! Super comfortable and ridiculously cute!  I love the color of this top and the hand of the fabric is very nice.  I love the subtle ruffle sleeve and then their rose gold bar necklace.  I paired this top with white pants to show a great “now look.”  The obvious way to pair this is with jeans but as you know I like to show a less obvious way to wear it.  This is a great beach look on a cooler evening and is casual yet dressy enough for a sit-down dinner.  When fall roles around you could layer this with a leather jacket and heavy necklaces and boots.

Now, moving on to some of the fall product.  Here I am wearing a top that is a beautiful rust color with cinched sides to bring a flattering look to the waistline.  I also love how this creates room for my growing baby bump!  In fact, everything I am sharing in this post is perfect for early maternity wear, at least for me it has been.  So to all those expectant mama’s don’t think you have to stick with maternity clothes the entire pregnancy.  I paired it with the same white pants as the previous image because it shows a way to wear it now.

This next top is ADORABLE!  I love how I can transition it into a fall business look by throwing on a cape blazer but keep it relevant to summer by pairing those cute sandals from before.  It even looks better without the cape blazer.  The exposed back is a delightful surprise and helps bring a bit of sexiness for a date after work.  The necklace coordinated perfectly with all of the pleasant earth tones within it.  The only thing you need to change for this look to transition into legit fall is by switching out the shoes to a pair of booties. I loved pairing black with it because of the warm color blocking.  Black brings in the drama.  Those same white pants I’ve worn would work right now too.

Now we all know that I am always encouraging my followers to think outside the box and experiment with things you don’t typically gravitate towards.  Well, here is a prime example of me practicing what I preach.  This corn maize sweater is spectacular but not my typical color that I feel confident in because of my skin-tone and hair color.  But like I have said before, I believe you can wear just about any color when paired with the right accessories.  For instance, I paired this turquoise statement necklace to bring a brighter color near my face.  I also wore a dark gray denim to bring contrast to the look.  And for an element of surprise I decided to wear fuchsia heels.  I now feel more confident in this color because I have strategically styled it to make it work for me.  This top is by far the softest article of clothing I have ever had on my body.  NO JOKE!

This last top from Peyton & Peppy was one that I was drawn to due to it’s uniqueness.  It’s an oversized button-down I felt would be a challenge for people to know how to wear.  This top could easily look too baggy if it isn’t styled properly.  This is one of those pieces that you play around with to fit your own body-type in a way that you find flattering.  I chose to show it tied in the middle at the waist because I am only 5’3″ and if I left it all one length it would probably swallow me whole.  But I love how adding the tie helps lengthen my legs and create interest.  I also left it a little more unbuttoned than I typically would to give it a more feminine feel since it is oversized.  I also loved pairing my distressed denim to bring some edginess as well as my fuchsia shoes again to add a hint of color.  Don’t be afraid to add an accent color to warm, neutral tones too.

The owner of Peyton & Peppy, Stephanie has been such a pleasure to work with when I collaborate with her.  She really caters to any need while shopping in her store.  She is passionate about the product that she selects for her inviting boutique.  I especially love the “live” videos she does on facebook to show new products.  It really helps those who can’t visualize certain items on themselves to see how a product looks on.  It also helps save the customer time if they see something they like because they know exactly what they are shopping for when they walk through the door.  Make sure and watch for the new fall line to launch and stop in to shop seasonally appropriate products now! Beauty Products You Need on Your Counter-TRUST ME!

We are living in a world where we have direct sales coming at us at all angles.  And yes, some people’s techniques can be aggravating but when you find the right rep and product it is all worth it.  One of the product lines I’m talking about is Beautycounter. I have literally fell in love with this line.  And no I am not selling it, although I should because of how much I talk about it ha ha!  The above product is by far the best lotion I have ever tried.  It goes on light but makes such a huge impact on my skin.  It feels like satin after you rub the lotion on your body.  It is called the Hydrating Body Lotion in Citrus Mimosa and the scent is light and refreshing.

The next product of Beautycounter that I fell in love with was their shampoo and conditioner.  What’s so wonderful about this line is how safe the product is.  Since I am expecting now, I am trying to be really careful with what I am using on my body.  Christi Oakes is a friend of mine that sells this product.  She shared with me about a time she went to a direct sales skincare party only to find out that she couldn’t use the product because she was expecting a child.  The product was not safe for her to use which is how she got introduced to Beautycounter.  It really resonated with me when she said, “if their product wasn’t safe for me to use while expecting, then why would I use it any other time?”  This shampoo and conditioner left my hair so soft and shiny. I have tried many shampoos and conditioners but none that have left my hair feeling so healthy and with a pleasant scent.  It keeps my hair clean longer too.

There are a few other products I have tried and own currently from this line; the charcoal bar of soap, which I use to wash my face, the Dew Skin Moisturizer with SPF 20 that I use for my foundation and then the Countermatch Eye Rescue Cream.  I have also heard wonderful things about the masks.

If you’re interested in learning more about Beautycounter make sure and contact my good friend, Christi Oakes.  You can visit her site below: www.beautycounter.com/christalynoakes or you can find her on facebook; Christi Oakes.

Another awesome thing she offers is what she calls “pouching products” and that is when she gives you samples to try out for a few days so you really know if you like the product!  How awesome is that?

I hope you take a gander and enjoy all the different products that are offered.

Top, earrings and pants from Dad’s Primitive Workbench

Have you ever walked down Front Street in Marietta, Ohio and come across a storefront with the name, Dad’s Primitive Workbench?  I’m personally not into primitive décor so I never really paid a lot of attention to the clothing that was featured in the window.  It wasn’t until a friend of mine told me about the cute styles that were offered inside that I decided to walk in and check it out myself.

There are trendy pieces that are versatile especially for my growing tummy.  Most of the clothing I’ve been drawn to have a bohemian, slouchy feel which works out well for me trying to not have to purchase many maternity clothes this pregnancy. The colors are thoughtful and the assortment flows nicely.  Not only is the clothing bright and cheerful but so is Charlie, the owner of this hidden gem.

Charlie also seems to really pick up on people’s styles too.  When I walk in the store he knows exactly what I am going to be drawn to and let me tell you something, not many people have that ability because I am pretty unpredictable with some of the things I like sometimes.

There are a few things that you should know about this special shop, and that is that Charlie always offers buy one get one half off on his clothing and he offers style boxes that he sends out once a month to customers that are interested.  It’s called the, DPW Style Box for $49.95/ month and you get 4 curated pieces inside. Another fun fact is that he offers plus-size styles.

Did I mention he offers cute accessories like these?  Yea, he does!  I hope you learned something new about a local business and will check out the fashions Dad’s Primitive Workbench has to offer.  And make sure and tell Charlie I said hello or go like and follow his social media pages;
