Today was a great day! This is one of the first days off work I’ve had in a long time where I didn’t have to do ANYTHING (except my appointment with my midwife for Mr. Sawyer this morning). It was great. I treated myself to a hot chocolate and watched a movie on Netflix and took a nap! It was lovely.
Once I woke up from my nap I decided to share a few product reviews from one of my favorite beauty and skincare lines, Beautycounter. My friend, Christi Oakes introduced it to me and I have fallen in love (going on almost a year of using some of the product line). She first got me hooked with the charcoal soap. I’ve also enjoyed trying the facial oils too. If you want to watch my facebook video make-up application click here.
Here is an up-close look at the make-up that I applied and below are images and names of what I used for this look.
I also like using the Dew Moisture Tinted Moisturizer for my foundation because I don’t like a lot of coverage. I use level 2 for my skin tone. I ADORE this moisturizer and highly recommend it.
I then used the velvet eye shadow make-up palette called Romantic. Here is an up-close image with my eyes shut. I used cameo on my brow bone, candlelight and brulee on my overall lid, moto on the outer eye and then used smolder to blend in the moto throughout the rest of my crease. I then used the lengthening mascara from this line as well.
I then finished off this look with the Color Intense Lipstick in color Sunset. This is a lipstick duo that you can purchase that includes two beautiful colors. I used the one on the right.
Overall, I am very pleased with the Beautycounter product and how safe it is for me to use while pregnant. I’ve also tried their shampoo and conditioner and love it too. Truth be told, I haven’t tried a product I didn’t like. So if you are in the market for a safe skincare and beauty line make sure and hit up my friend, Christi Oakes and her website for Beautycounter here.
And now for your side of fashion. As you know I love the color black and wearing it is so easy. I decided to add a hint of color with my felt hat along with my lip color. Sometimes you just need those two splashes of color to make a huge difference in a look. I then mixed a fun texture with my blanket scarf and paired it with my Talbots speckled, ribbed turtleneck and faux leather jacket from Dad’s Primitive Workbench.
Now you can easily try adding splashes of color in a primarily black outfit! I hope you enjoyed my review and I can’t wait to hear about who decided to try out Beautycounter!
Your Faithful Dreamer,
